Removal Of Starter Accounts

As of the 30th of June 2020, AppShed will no longer support the Free Starter Account.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we remove the Starter Account from AppShed. The truth of the matter is that we can no longer carry the free Starter accounts. To ensure our EDU users get the best possible experience we will be removing the Starter Account.

If you've ever made contact with us you will know we are a small team of educators, makers, and developers. For the past 10 years, we have absolutely loved seeing users build apps, learn to code, create games and more - whether they had an EDU account or not. Unfortunately this is something we just can't support anymore.

We want all the users, teachers, makers, and anyone using our platform to know that we are here for them. We want to help you as much as possible during this transition. We highly encourage anyone with questions or concerns to reach out to us. This is going to be a difficult transition for many and we want you all to know that we will do our best to make it easier for you. We will be replacing the Starter Account with a 15 Day Free EDU Trial and an Individual Account Priced at £8. You can sign up here.

FAQ

Will my account be deleted?

No, on the 30th of June Starter accounts will lose the ability to create new and edit old apps. All content will remain on the account.

Can I upgrade?

Yes, all Starter accounts can be upgraded to EDU accounts, no content will be lost during this process.

If I upgrade what happens to my students' apps?

If you upgrade your account to an EDU account you'll have two options for getting your students signed up which are:

• Add your student's exciting Starter accounts to your EDU School Account. This will carry across all of these apps, usernames, and passwords so nothing will need to be changed.
• Create new student accounts with the account creator in the EDU Teacher Dashboard

Our team members will be available to help with either option to ensure a quick and smooth transition.

This isn't in my budget

We know this is going to cause some major issues for teachers and their finance departments and so we want all teachers to know that we are flexible and can work around your constraints. What is Free Starter being replaced with?

The Starter Account is being Replaced with a 15 day free trial of the EDU Account.

What if I don't upgrade?

If you choose to not upgrade your account you will still be accessible however you won't be able to create new apps and you won't be able to edit old apps. We do however highly recommend trying out the 15 Day Free Trial.

What if I'm an individual learner, not using this with my school?
